Malaysian Hockey Legend
Tengku Ahmad Tajuddin is part of the Malaysian 2010 Asian Games hockey squad that won the silver medal. Nicknamed as 'Zidane', Tengku Ahmad made his international senior debut in 2005 and has represented Malaysia in hockey tournaments all over the world for more than a decade. An epitome of hard work, passion for hockey and one of the most technically gifted strikers in Malaysian hockey, it is befitting that is the current Assistant Coach for the Malaysian Junior Hockey Team under the National Hockey Development Programme (NHDP).

1. How did you get involved in hockey?
After primary school, I was offered to study at Bukit Jalil Sports School (BJSS). From there my hockey skills grew. After that, I continued my studies at the University of Putra Malaysia in the field of Human Resource Development. When I was 19, I represented Malaysia at the 2005 Youth Hockey World Cup. I have been a national player for more than 14 years now.
2. What are your best sporting achievements so far?
Silver - Asian Games (2010 & 2018)
Represented Malaysia at the Hockey World Cup (2014 & 2018)
Bronze –Commonwealth Games (2006)
3. We understand that you are now a Coach with the National Hockey Development Programme (NHDP). What are your aspirations for 2022 and beyond?
Now my focus is on producing players and teams that can win big tournaments at the international level.
4. What drives your passion for hockey?
I love hockey because this sport requires high ability, strength and skill in every aspect.
5. Describe your perfect weekend.
On my weekends, I love spending time in nature and with my family.
6. How did you hear about Beet It Sport?
I was first introduced to Beet It Sport from a nutritionist with the National Sports Institute.
