I have been drinking Beet It Sport shots for over 3 years. It definitely gave me that extra boost of energy and general health, I feel that I was able to last longer aerobically during my endurance running.

1. How did you get involved in sports?

I’ve been involved in sports since I was young, and I competed nationally in athletics. In 2002, I switched my career as an audio engineer to be being full time in the fitness industry. Having participated in multiple different activities over the years, I had the opportunity to explore different interests and I found passions I never knew I had. I believe that sports taught me how to deal with failures and disappointments in life. I learnt that I may not always get the results I want, but no matter what, I have to keep on persevering and not give up. Sports helped gave me a positive attitude.

2. Do you participate in many races?

No I don’t. I've learned many important life lessons as an athlete. Due to my past injuries and workload, I am very subjective on certain races. I always ask myself “Should I race?” rather than “Can I race?” If I run a marathon, I have to work hard for it and have to pay attention to my daily training and nutrition.

3. What motivates you to train and compete harder?

To be at my best, I have to put a lot of time and effort into my sport. But, there are times, when I don't feel that motivated. When I feel this way, I will focus on my long-term goals. I always remind myself the reason why I work so hard. I imagine exactly what I want to accomplish and I tell myself that the only way I'll be able to reach my goals is to continue to work hard.

4. What do you hope to achieve in the coming year?

After a long break, it’s good to set goals for this year. I’m looking forward to specific running distances, training harder, staying consistent and I hope to achieve personal bests based on my training plans. However, I really hope to get things under control this year since it has been a long, difficult year in 2020. The coronavirus is still around, but if we can safely soldier through these next few months, then normal life; or at least a new version of normal, will be within reach.

5. What are your top three nutrition tips?

Consider your current physical state and race goals before planning your meals. Aim to provide your body with the proper fuel to meet your fitness level, whether you consider yourself a beginner or advanced athlete.

Prioritize hydration. As athletes, staying on top of hydration is the best thing you can do to set yourself up for success. The minimum amount is a great starting place because it should help you avoid the pitfalls such as fatigue, cramping, dizziness and irritability. Make friends with your macronutrients. When eating for performance, being consistent with the portion sizes of your protein, carbs, fat, and vegetable is key.

6. How did you hear about Beet It Sport and how it helped your sporting performance?

I have heard lots of positive feedback about beetroot juice and the health benefits that it comes with. It cannot be denied as it’s all backed up by scientific evidence. A friend of mine tried and told me it is a top product and lots of hype about it, so I thought I’d give it a try. Now I have been drinking Beet It Sport shots for over 3 years. It definitely gave me that extra boost of energy and general health, I feel that I was able to last longer aerobically during my endurance running.

7. Anything additional you would like to say about Beet It Sport?

At the most basic level, nutrition is important for athletes because it provides a source of energy required to perform the activity. The food we eat impacts on our strength, training, performance and recovery and Beet It Sport is one of the most recommended product, being an amazing source of concentrated nitrate and other nutrients shown to enhance athletic performance and improve cardiovascular health. It’s been shown that the volume of oxygen utilized at varying intensities was greatly improved after beet juice consumption.
